The Top 5 Events to Catch this Summer in New York City
No matter what time of year, New York City is hot! That's because there are great events happening here all year long! If you happen to be in New York City this summer, the hot temperatures won't spoil your plans, as the city has some amazing summer events in store. Whether you are visiting the city or are a native New Yorker, you'll need to get out your planner so that you can write down and choose which of the large variety of events will most interest you.

No matter where you travel, no place can equal the energy and spirit that you will experience in New York City. All countries that are acknowledged by the United Nations have representatives in New York City. This makes it a veritable conglomeration of cultures, which means there are happenings going on at all times that appeal to all people. Therefore, if there's something special that you are looking for, you are likely to find it in NYC. Many of the world class happenings are free of charge and open to the public! Some of the most popular of these free happenings are Central Park concerts, film screenings in Bryant Park, art exhibitions throughout the city, and dance classes in Prospect Park.

I've compiled a list of my favorite top 5 NYC events for this summer starting with: Rent at Broadway in Bryant Park, see the cast perform songs about life in the East Village. The second is Rooftop Films. For those of you who have ever watched a movie outside, you will find that this tops them all. Brooklyn has several showings in the area. The third is SummerStage in Central park. You can watch some of the most popular acts each Sunday in the summer months. You can catch the New York Philharmonic during the summer, as they fill the entire city with glorious music, making a summer appearance in each borough. Of course, do not miss the US Tennis Open which is a must for all tennis fans!
